1. Who operates RoamEV
RoamEV is operated by Fatih Subaş. For privacy questions or requests, email appupdo@gmail.com.
2. Information we handle
- Account information: email address, display name where supplied, sign-in provider identifier, account ID, email-verification state, and consent records.
- Optional synchronized content: saved vehicle profiles, route and place text, trip history, favorites, preferences, charging-session records, and consumption calibration. Cloud upload and restore are initiated through account controls.
- Location: precise or approximate device location when you request nearby stations, use your current position in a route, view the station map, or update route progress.
- Local vehicle data: paired Bluetooth-device information, generic OBD-II vehicle speed, 12 V control-module voltage, and the latest reading time. OBD readings remain on your device and are excluded from account cloud backup.
- Technical requests: network address and ordinary request metadata may be processed by our service providers when the app contacts their services.
3. How information is used
We use information to authenticate accounts, provide user-requested backup and restore, calculate routes and energy estimates, find and display charging stations, obtain current weather inputs, show route progress, connect to a selected OBD-II adapter, prevent abuse, secure the service, and answer support or privacy requests.
RoamEV does not continuously track location. It does not sell personal information. The current app contains no advertising SDK, payment system, or active analytics/crash-reporting SDK.
4. When information is shared
Data is sent only as needed for a feature you use:
- Google Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore provide sign-in and optional account backup.
- Google Identity Services processes Google sign-in when selected.
- Open Charge Map receives coordinates and search radius for charging-station searches.
- The configured OSRM-compatible routing service receives route coordinates to calculate road distance, duration, and geometry.
- Open-Meteo receives route coordinates to provide current temperature and wind inputs.
- OpenFreeMap and MapLibre provide map tiles and map display. Opening external navigation or station details sends the selected destination to the app or website you choose.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Information may be processed in countries outside your residence, subject to the safeguards used by the relevant provider and applicable law.
5. Device permissions
- Location supports nearby charging searches, maps, route start and route-progress updates.
- Bluetooth lists paired devices and connects to the OBD-II adapter you select.
- Internet and network state support routing, maps, weather, stations, authentication, and optional synchronization.
- Notifications may be requested on supported Android versions for user-facing app events.
You may deny or revoke optional permissions in Android settings. Features that require them will then be unavailable.
6. Storage and retention
Most app content is stored locally in Android app storage until you delete it, clear app data, or uninstall the app. If you use an account, authentication data and the account backup remain while your account exists. Account deletion removes the user’s Firestore document and Firebase Authentication account through the in-app control. Service-provider security backups may persist for a limited period under provider retention practices or legal obligations.
7. Your choices and rights
You can delete individual vehicles, trips, sessions, favorites, searches, and OBD readings in the app; erase all local RoamEV data; choose whether to upload an account backup; sign out; or permanently delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may also request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent by contacting us. You may complain to your competent data-protection authority.
8. Security, children, and changes
We use access-controlled Firebase records, authenticated user boundaries, transport encryption supplied by service providers, and device-local Android storage. No system is completely secure. RoamEV is a driving utility for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as features or legal requirements change; the effective date above will be revised.
